Sean McGinley | Head coach (Sprints)
Coach McGinley is starting his 19th season at Bishop Chatard and his 15th year as head coach. He has been nominated as a finalist for IATCCC Coach of the Year on 14 occasions. In 2013 and 2022, he was awarded the IATCCC Coach of the Year. Prior to joining the Bishop Chatard Track and Field Program, Coach McGinley served as an assistant coach at Cathedral High School and Central Catholic High School in Portland, OR. Coach McGinley is a graduate of Cathedral High School and was a member of the state championship 4 x 400 relay team in 1998. He continued his running career at Wabash College and received a bachelor of liberal arts education from Wabash in 2002. Sean is the Director of Operations at Cork Medical.
Chase Ayres | Pole Vault
Chase is starting his 3rd season as the Bishop Chatard Pole Vault coach. Chase vaulted at Columbus North High School and Marian University. After graduation, Chase has stayed involved in the vaulting community and has coached at Columbus North High School and also Franklin College. Chase is the Senior Marketing Specialist at St. Vincent.
Dave Hauser | High Jump
Coach Hauser is entering his 12th year as the high jump coach. Coach Hauser was previously the head track and field coach at New Palestine before joining the Trojan Staff. During his time at Bishop Chatard he has helped out with many aspects of the program such as long jump, pole vaulting, sprints and relays.
Kevin King | Throws
Coach King will be working with the throwers for his 11th season at Bishop Chatard and he has spent 38 years coaching a combination of football, wrestling and track. He has spent time at Bishop Chatard, Center Grove, Lawrence North and Bloomington South. Kevin was a IHSAA state champion in wrestling and the discus. His wife Joan is a teacher and has 2 children (Vincent and Emily).
Dan Kinghorn | Distance
Coach Kinghorn is starting his 28th track and field season at Bishop Chatard. He is the head boys and girls CC coach. During his tenure at Bishop Chatard, Coach Kinghorn has earned 18 City Coach of the year awards in track & CC and was the 2005 IATCCC State CC Coach of the Year.
Kris Roney | Hurdles
Coach Roney is a Bishop Chatard Track and Field Legend. In our Track and Field History, we have had 5 state champions and Coach Roney was the 1998 110 hurdle meter champion. Thru the years Kris has served as a consultant to the sprint and hurdle program and is starting his 3rd full season as our hurdle coach. Coach Roney had a successful career at Indiana State.
Josh Schaffner | Sprints
Coach Schaffner is in his fifth year with the Bishop Chatard Track and Field program working with the sprinters. Prior to being at Bishop Chatard, Coach Schaffner was an assistant and then head coach at Scecina Memorial High School and spent one year at Roncalli. Schaffner is also a theology teacher at BCHS in addition to moderating the Cooking Club and Trivia Club. Coach Schaffner is a 2009 graduate of the University of Notre Dame (MA) and a 2006 graduate of Baylor University where he was a member of the rugby team. He is married to BCHS teacher Katie Schaffner and they have two future Trojan runners, John and George.
Monique Ware | Long Jump
Monique graduated from Bishop Chatard where she placed 6th in the 2005 state meet and currently holds the long jump school record. In college, Monique qualified for both the indoor and outdoor nationals NAIA championships and currently holds the school record in both events. After graduating from Marian, she spent 4 seasons as the Bishop Chatard Long Jump coach and then coached the jumpers at Marian University for 5 seasons. Monique is the associate director of financial aid at Ivy Tech.
